For anyone who’s willing to try new (and safe) things
Aerial Yoga is not really something totally new, aerial gymnasts have been doing tricks and tumbles with silk for a long long time. A lady, a silk aerial gymnast, started Unnata Aerial Yoga in the states, combining her skills with her love for yoga.
It was brought to South Africa during 2010 and has taken off.
What I most love about aerial yoga is the strength and stabilising work; in a conventional yoga class, there is a lot of pushing and working on to the joints, whereas in the hammock, we decompress the joints as we work with gravity and with our own bodies.
Anyone can start a class, even if you’ve never done yoga.
Come join us at Sandton Yoga Lounge on Mondays 9h15 and Wednesday 17h15, for a new and exciting experience. Turn your world upside down while having fun.
